Activities

Extra-Curricular activities are activities which fall outside the scope of our school’s academic curriculum. These activities offer learners something fun to engage in outside the classroom and provide them with opportunities to explore their non-academic interests which may lead them to discover their individual hobbies.

At Prenora, we offer the following extra-murals:

  • Monkeynastics – a learning programme offered to Foundation Phase learners where they “learn through play”.
  • Martial Arts – a programme offered in collaboration with AKSA Martial Arts Polokwane to provide learners with  karate and self-defense classes.

Performing Arts & Music

We take pride in training our students in art forms like dance, drama, painting and more. We organize exhibitions, concerts and musical events to encourage our students to own their talent and flourish in those fields.

Our learners and teachers take part in events such as The International Reading Day, School Reading Festival as well as Spelling Bee, on a yearly basis. We celebrate important dates on the calendar such as The Human Rights Day and The Heritage Day.

Every Grade undertakes one excursion per annum in order to broaden the learning experience of our learners beyond the walls of the class room.

Our Foundation Phase learners have an opportunity to register and take part in Monkeynastics, a learning program whereby leaners learn through play.

At Prenora, our annual Grade R graduation ceremony is held at the end of the fourth term of our academic calendar. The purpose of this celebration is to recognise and celebrate learners who have successfully completed the Foundation Phase. Our graduates are dressed in green graduation gowns and awarded completion certificates to mark their transition from the Early Childhood Development phase to the formal grades.

Our annual Grade 7 Farewell is also celebrated in the fourth term of our academic calendar. The purpose of this annual celebration is to bid farewell to our grade 7 learners who are set to complete grade 7 at the end of the year. Our Grade 7 learners come dressed in smart attire to celebrate with their teachers, parents and caregivers.
