History of Prenora

“I founded Prenora English Medium Preparatory School in 1996 as a single mother of three (3) daughters who was a qualified teacher by profession. The acquisition of the necessary resources for establishing such institutions was challenging at that time, especially for single women of colour.

With no savings in my bank account, I embarked on a journey to make the vision of Prenora a reality and establish the School as one of the leading private schools in Limpopo.

The land was negotiated by the municipality and the Executive Committee of the Civic Association under the presidency of Mr. Lesiba Modikwa. It was eventually paid in full through funds obtained from a company called SaFrich

Principal's message

“Prenora English Medium Preparatory School is an independent private school with a diverse community. Our School is located at 861 Tswelopele Street, Zone 4 Seshego, 11km outside of Polokwane in the Limpopo Province. Our School is registered with the Limpopo Department of Education under registration number 2010056. We are fully registered with Umalusi as a primary school under Accreditation Number 19 SCHO 1 00736.

Effective governance is necessary for setting high standards of teaching and learning, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and departmental policies.“

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Our School Management Team (SMT) comprises of the following staff members:

Academic Head: Mrs.Thabitha Maseteba Ledwaba
Head – Languages: Mrs. Constance Mamoloko Mokobela

The School Management Team is primarily responsible for monitoring the quality of teaching, overseeing curriculum implementation and promoting initiatives which promote and support educator development.

The SMT provides the necessary leadership for achieving academic excellence, ensuring operational efficiency and implementing policies. All efforts are aimed at providing strategic leadership, support to staff, fostering an inclusive culture and managing resources to improve teaching.

The SMT also ensures that the school’s vision, mission and goals are well-served at all times and that school policies are transformed into daily, high quality educational practices.

The Prenora Staff Community is the backbone of our school. Their unwavering dedication, enthusiasm and honour to our school ethos form the strong heartbeat that keeps our institution going, year in, year out. The compliance, strategic direction and operational oversight of our school is managed by our School Management Team whose core objective is to steer our school towards success.

Our highly qualified educators go above and beyond their call of duty by acting as mentors and guides to our learners. They strive to build strong teacher-learner relationships and form an integral part of a learner’s support system in their journey of discovery and growth. Prenora educators endeavour to foster approachability-forward learning spaces in their classrooms.

Safety First

Safety is important to us. By putting safety first on our school grounds, we ensure that our learners feel safe and secure both inside and outside the classroom so they can better focus on their schooling experience. Our team of certified First Aid and Fire Safety representatives have been well-trained on the various protocols put in place should an incident occur.

Through continuous active supervision, we are able to reduce accidents, injuries and hazards. We have full confidence in our Emergency Response Protocols which are specifically designed to contain any incident as quickly and safely as possible.
